What the site handles

You can use the word tools without an account. Letters and filters are processed in your browser. Searches may also appear in the page URL, so anyone you share that URL with can see them. When you load a page, the hosting provider receives ordinary request data such as your IP address and browser information to deliver and secure the site.

Your browser stores your theme and selected dictionary as local preferences. These preferences are not advertising cookies; you can remove them by clearing this site’s browser storage.

Definitions and third parties

When you open a word definition, your browser requests that word from Wiktionary. That request shares the word and ordinary connection data with Wikimedia. See the Wikimedia privacy policy.

Advertising and consent

The Google AdSense tag loads on the site's other pages to provide consent and privacy choices and prepare the site for advertising. Google may receive connection data, including your IP address, when the tag loads. Ads may not appear while the site is under review. If ads are served, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar identifiers, IP addresses, and device information to serve and measure them. Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland can accept, decline, or manage consent. Visitors in supported US states can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information through Google’s US-state message.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 on the site's tool pages to understand visits, which pages and features people use, and how the site performs. Google may receive your IP address, device and browser information, page URL (including any letters in its search query), and interaction events. Analytics can use cookies to recognise a browser across visits. We do not use Analytics data for ad personalisation or enable Google Signals.

For visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Analytics storage is denied until the Google consent message records a choice. If you decline, Google may still receive limited, cookie-free measurements under consent mode. The Analytics tag does not load on this privacy page. Outside those regions, Analytics is enabled by default. You can also block or clear Analytics cookies using your browser settings.
